# What is Tolk?

> The translation platform of Every Day: all translations of all your projects in one place.

Tolk is the translation platform of Every Day. Teams use it to manage the translation keys and translations of their Laravel and WordPress projects, per customer and per project. Tolk translates with AI, checks placeholders and puts the translations back into the code in any format you need.

The goal: translation work moves from manual edits in files to **one push, one AI round, one review and one pull**.

## How it works

<Steps>
  <Step title="Keys come in">
    A developer pushes the keys from the code to Tolk, through the API or the Laravel package. You can also import existing language files.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Translate">
    AI delivers the first version. Translators review it in the editor and adjust where needed. Tolk guards placeholders, plurals and the glossary.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Back to the code">
    The translations go back to the repository as files: through an export, the API or a GitHub Action that opens a pull request. A deploy therefore never depends on Tolk.
  </Step>
</Steps>
